This problem is more computationally proofy. I had fun with it. Mind you, youre solving the character polynomial associated with a second order diffy eqn with monomial constants with the substitution y=x^m.

Help me overcome my fear of adding Even numbers to Odd numbers

When you add even numbers and odd numbers you make an odd number. Given that any even number can be represented as 2n, given that n is an integer and and odd number can be written as 2n-1 given that n is an integer. This gives 2n+2n-1 which is 4n-1 which can be an odd number. Therefore that pair is odd. Quite the odd couple huh?
