Back in the day I went to a Cash Money / Ruff Ryders show that was on a Fri or Sat night and was supposed to start at 7. We showed up about an hour early and they weren't letting anyone in the arena, there was a line that came off the arena and down around the block. A bit after 9 they let everyone in and I saw what was probably the worst rap shows Ive ever seen...super disappointing. Both crews did the same thing: all performers on stage at the same time, everyone's mic was live, and BIPOCs rapping over BIPOCs. Like 8 BIPOCs all rapping the same song at the same time. The best part of the night was getting served alcohol when I was underage waiting to get inside.
Ha! Yeah Hip Hop shows are a bit different when everyone is trying to be on the Mic. One time at a giant outdoor Music festival Metallica was closing the night and we had been drinking all day and we were hanging out by the exit and every time we saw someone leaving with a Metallica T-shirt on while Metallica was playing we would point at them and yell Traitor!!! Get back in there!!! We got some funny reactions
