Because when you will need emergency money or spare money through life, the market is usually also taking a shit . So you have to only deposit money you are willing to part with like you never had it to begin with. There is no right amount, it's individual. Emergency back up funds come before investing. Start small, use money you are wasting on bad habits and let it snowball from there. No shame in putting in a $100 a month and letting that build over time.

I'm a degenerate gambler, I refuse to bet on sports because since its legal in my state, it's way to easy for me to fall in to the trap. I need a casino because it's more than gambling, it's a nice dinner and night out. And to me there is nothing like the rush I get at a craps table. I have turned many nights in to that scene from a Bronx Tale. Most people that have gambled with me say, I'm the most entertaining craps player they have ever played with because I have such a love for the game and I'm super cartoonish once I get going.
