My fiancée is actually obsessed with tracking ships using some app on her phone, she spots them on the water (we overlook the lake) and then tracks them. I swear it’s some obscure autistic shit, but she loves it.

I personally think it’s super lame but it makes her happy, she was ecstatic when I started sending her the links showing ships coming in and we genuinely face out over the lake right beside a pier and facing towards Niagara.

She grew up in a small town in Ontario so watching big boats is something she gets a lot of enjoyment out of. I’ll ask her what the app is, but she has an app (she pays a small subscription fee) which lets her tag boats she finds on our lake and sends her updates once they reach ports on their way to their destination.
Like I said I’m not really into it, but I do think it’s super cool she’s able to do that, and she’s spent a bunch of hours watching the ships come in on the link you share while I play video games / cook dinner.
